Wentworth Castle gardens

I knew that it was going to be a great day when I saw this spider crawling over the marmite, spiders are meant to be lucky, right?
Look, blue sky, not a single cloud and no freezing northerly wind!!!
We went out to Wentworth Castle gardens. We started in the park.

And then walked round to the gardens.

This was once somebody's house! We were thinking about what we would do with it if we owned it. It would be faaaaar to big to live in...
Mrs S brought along some colour charts which the kids had to use to find a nature colour match.

Rollie pollies!

The kids then had to make a nature collection.

running...
up to the castle.

Kiki had just come down from the top of the tower and sang
"I'm the king of the castle, you're the dirty....ummm castle"

The kids found a nest in the wall and were sitting waiting for the mom to come down.
There she is! I was lucky to get this picture as she never stayed for long. Boo found a caterpillar.

It was such a lovely relaxing day. The kids all enjoyed being with each other and I had wonderful day with Mrs S.
