Western Park Museum

Googs asked to go to the museum.
Western park museum is quite small but all the exhibits are really hands on so the kids love it. A model kitchen
A recipe book from 200 years ago! It includes the usual; cheesecake and well as the unusual; hedgehog!

Bone marrow holder
The older two took an exhibit worksheet to complete.
toys from the last 60 years or so.
playing gardening
I found Googs in the book corner.

butter churn
knife cleaner from the 1900

Playing butchers

A head made of clay, wood and metal.
Drawing their portraits
colour mixing
I loved this painting but I am not sure why. maybe the eyes and the contrast of black and white.
neptunes vase 1800's Italy
admiring mosaics
1750's jug for beer.
1800's China. The carving was amazing!

Googs making a rubbing of a vase
building igloos.

Food chain.

A great place to go when the weather is bad.

It is a wonderful place, so different from the strictly hands-off museums that I was dragged around as a girl

What an interesting place to visit with lots to explore. My mother has a butter churner very similar to that one. I have my eye on it!
