After riding on the train and the underground, we were able to see another of the Queen's houses, Buckingham palace.
The last time I was here was the day that Diana died. I was on my way to Holland and got to Buckingham palace early in the morning, flowers were only starting to be laid at the gates.
It must be strange to grow up always having people gawking at you.
I tried to get everyone into this shot, Kiki didn't want to pose because she was cross that we didn't go and ring the queen's doorbell to say hello. She thought that we were being rude :)
We then walked back into the hustle and bustle of Piccadilly circus.
Here was Hubby looking rather short next to the model of the tallest man :)
And a two headed calf, poor thing.
Then over to Trafalgar square
Nelson's column
Where the children climbed onto the lions
Helping each other climb the steps
Out of everything, they were most excited about spotting Big Ben!
Next time we will get much closer to Big Ben.

Did you going during Olympic time?
No, we didn't, that's why it was so quiet, well, London can never be called 'quiet' but you know what I mean :)
oh you were in my neck of the woods!!! London is always very busy but your pictures do make it look quite quiet. i am off to party in London one evening next month with some friends! Covent garden area! Looks like you all had such a great time and saw so much!
