On Monday, a public holiday here, my parents came over and we all went for a walk around the reservoir.
We discovered that it was frozen all over except for a small area in the centre where all the birds were paddling.
Everyone wanted a turn throwing in stones in an attempt to crack the ice.
Hubby threw small stones across the ice and they made a wonderful woowoo sound as they slid over the ice, very eerie.
We soon had to get moving again to keep warm
Grandad got very cold so Kiki said that she would help him to warm up by holding his hand. Walking behind them I overheard her turn to Grandad and say "Grandad, we're best friends" :)
To warm up, as soon as we got home we lit a fire and ate Christmas pudding and warm custard hmmm perfect.

Happy New Year to you all!
We enjoyed a similar walk on the same day! We also threw stones and sticks on icy lakes. Amazing to see such stretches of ice!
Wishing you all a wonderful year ahead and wishing all your dreams become fulfilled. Will email soon.
Thanks Kelly, and to you all too x
I have struggled getting back into blogging land this year...lol but it has only been the first week, I am sure that I will catch up with it all soon.
Looking forward to it ;)
What a beautiful location. Where is the reservoir? I plan to do a lot more walking this year and am looking for places just like this!
It is a reservoir just down the road from us. It is only a few miles walk to get all the way around it. I will e-mail you with directions. If you want anything more challenging then going around the lady Bower Dam has more options.
